A scarce and very attractive piece for the Hamilton collector, these were identified in Hamilton literature as "Leather Salesman Sample Case for 16 Watches." These salesman's cases are often found with issues such as a missing inner tray and/or with substantial exterior finish loss, and finding examples such as this in excellent condition throughout is quite challenging. From the well-known Hamilton collection of Robert Bennett of Olivehurst, California.
